Otto retired in 2019 after 25 years as the Department Chair in Theatre at Santa Barbara High School, where he was named the Santa Barbara County Arts Educator of the Decade in 2019 by Broadwayworld.com.
Otto has been part of the community since 1980, attending UCSB as both an undegraduate and graduate. Otto and his wife Mary have owned in VDM since 2002, and lived full time here since 2012, so they have seen the property from the perspective of both property manager and resident owner. “My wife and I love the care and attention provided by management, and as a fulltime retiree I would like to be more involved in the decisions of the Board.”
